The Destination of Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki (520 km. north of Athens) is the second largest city of Greece with over 1 million inhabitants in its metropolitan area, and the most important center of the area. Built near the sea (at the back of the Thermaïkos Gulf), it is a modern metropolis bearing the marks of its stormy history and its cosmopolitan character, which give it a special beauty and charm. The city is renowned for its festivals, events and vibrant cultural life in general, and is considered to be Greece's cultural capital.

Highlights

The White Tower (15th century), the most recognizable landmark of Thessaloniki, can be reached by taking a scenic walk along the Seafront Promenade. Tourists can visit the tower and ascend to the viewing platform on the top, which offers sensational views of the city and harbor. The White Tower also hosts temporary exhibitions such as presentations of Byzantine religious paintings.

The Ano Poli is the historic old town, known as the Upper Town because of its hilltop location. The Ano Poli has many noteworthy historic churches and other famous sites. Rotonda was used as the Cathedral of Thessaloniki.

The Roman Rotonda (Saint George's Church) is Thessaloniki's most magnificent ancient monument built in the early fourth century.

The historical quarter of the Ladadika. In recent years, a series of interventions to rehabilitate the urban fabric have helped to enhance the Ladadika as a quarter for leisure pursuits.

The central Aristotelous Square, surrounded by monumental buildings and open to the waterfront for a width of 100 meters.

HELEXPO LOCATION

TIF HELEXPO SA is the national exhibition agency of Greece. It is the largest organizer of exhibitions, congresses and cultural events in South-eastern Europe.

The International Exhibition & Congress Centre of TIF HELEXPO is located in the 'heart' of Thessaloniki, with easy access from any location in the city and using any means of transportation. 

With trade fairs and consumer exhibitions held successfully throughout the year at exhibition premises of European Specifications, his is the most important exhibition organization agency in Greece, operating since 1926.

At the heart of the city's history, adjacent to the Byzantine Museum and the Archaeological Museum, the International Exhibition Centers of TIF HELEXPO attract a wealth of conference events.

The Conference will take place in the Congress Centre “Ioannis Vellidis”

Its spaces can be modified and adapted so as to respond fully to the needs and requirements of any event.

Its six fully equipped halls can host up to 2,100 people and are best suited for conferences and high profile international events, while they can also be used for a variety of other events.
The roof garden, designed according to a minimal transforming industrial aesthetic, can host receptions for up to 1,000 people.
